Happy Starts to 2023: Maintaining Momentum

Happy New Year everyone! I feel like you can still say that even though we're now in the second week of 2023, everything's feeling pretty fresh.

I have to confess I am one of the 94% who have fallen off their New Years Resolutions already, but weirdly it hasn't got me down. This year felt different when I set my resolutions. Back in the day I used to see resolutions as overwhelmingly important and they really dictated how I felt about myself. I think it was really taking the time over the past few years to tap into myself, my feelings and my 'why' that has allowed me to set goals for myself with the knowledge and understanding that goals for me are an amazing way to think about what I want out of life but that my life is full of activity and therefore implementing a million new daily habits is unrealistic.

I thought I would share my New Years Resolutions here for anyone looking for some inspiration:

- Reach 1k subscribers on Youtube

- Try new forms of exercise, ex. kickboxing, climbing

- Stick to a healthy sleep routine that helps me both sleep but also be the best I can be the next day

- Travel more

- Buy a house

- Succeed and feel empowered in my job

Insight Timer has been an amazing addition to my life and if you haven't heard of it, definitely check it out. Of all the meditation apps it's the only one I use nowadays and the library on there is so full and diverse, you should always be able to find the perfect companion for your moment.

As above, one of my resolutions was to do the 30 Day Challenge. The idea is to meditate every single day from the 1st January, however I haven't. But for me that's not a failure! Reflecting on my first week of January I don't get cross with myself that I haven't meditated every single day because I meditated a lot and especially when I needed it.

Most importantly, I know that I will continue with the days this week and that's really the message I want to push out with this blog post: just because you might have not started yet or missed a day, it really doesn't matter. Just keep going because as soon as you do one more day of whatever your resolution is, you're going to feel fabulous. If the resolution doesn't work for you, then pick a new one!

Have fun with new year thoughts and feelings and tap into the WHY you set yourself a goal on the 1st January. Not all resolutions have to be daily habits, they can just be tapping into your deepest dreams and realising something new about yourself.

Sending love to all and let me know in the comments below what your New Years ideas were! xx
